FlyNiki to offer flights to Israel
Austrian airline to operate three weekly flights on Tel Aviv-Vienna route starting February. Round-trip ticket to cost around €240, company says
Austrian airline flyNiki will operate three weekly flights on the Tel Aviv-Vienna route starting February. The one-way fare will start at €119 (about $160).
The company was founded by Andreas Nikolaus "Niki" Lauda, a former Formula One racing driver and three-time F1 world champion. Lauda was injured in a Grand Prix crash and suffered extensive scarring from the burns. He recovered and resumed his racing career, retiring after 10 years.
The company's representative in Israel, Moni Bar, told Yedioth Ahronoth that the airlines flights will be significantly cheaper than the flights of other airlines flying from Austria to Tel Aviv – about €240 ($320) for a round-trip ticket.
Seats can already be booked in the company's distribution system. Prices for the first flight, which will be operated by Lauda as one of the pilots, start at $349.
