Spicy Way opening store in Germany
Israeli company specializing in medicinal herbs, spices from Galilee to open first store in Düsseldorf at total investment of NIS 1 million
Spicy Way, an Israeli company specializing in growing, exporting and selling spices and medicinal herbs, is opening its first store in Germany at a total investment of NIS 1 million (about $260,000).
The store will be located within a Carsch-Haus boutique in Düsseldorf, which belongs to Germany's leading department store chain Kaufhof. The company plans to open 26 additional stores in the Kaufhof chain in every branch with a food court.
The store will operate in the "buy and eat" format: Apart from the blended spices and herbs on sale, it also includes a bar which will serve hot, cold and alcoholic beverages – all based on Spicy Way's fruit and herbal infusions.
The store will also offer nuts and muesli, as well as seasoned tahini, rice and cheese.
Spicy Way is a family company, which started off by growing spices in Bethlehem of Galilee. The company's founder and owner, Avi Zithersphieler, turned its products into one of the leading tea brands in Britain, marketed in nearly 50 boutique stores across the country.
In 2012, he plans to open stores in the United States, Europe and Argentina as well.
