Farahani moved to Paris several years ago after being criticized in 2008 for failing to wear a veil at the Academy Awards ceremony.

The actress' Facebook face was soon filled with comments which ranged from fervent support for her "bold move" to condemnation.
On Tuesday, Farahani announced that the Iranian culture ministry had informed her that she is no longer wlecome in her homeland.
"I was told by a Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guide official that Iran does not need any actors or artists. You may offer your artistic services somewhere else", Farahani was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph.
Emerging Hollywood star?
The actress previously performed alongside Leonardo Di Caprio and Israeli actor Alon Abutbul in the film "Body of Lies." She played a nurse who helps a wounded American agent to complete his mission in a Muslim country.
The move prompted outrage in Iran. The semi-official Fars news agency said, "With the little support she still had left, Farahani now betrayed her supporters too." It was also claimed the actress had posed nude "to attract the attention of ad companies and film studios."
The Iranian website bulletin news described Farahani as "thoughtless" and "extremist."
The step comes two days after the Iranian film "A Separation" by Asghar Farhadi won the best foreign film category at Hollywood's Golden Globe Awards. Farahani has participated in many of Farhadi's previous films.
