'One of Israel's many enemies behind attacks on embassies'

Iran continues to deny link to Monday's dual terror attack on Israeli missions in India, Georgia; defense minister says one of 'Zionist regime's other global enemies' to blame

"The Zionist regime has many enemies around the world. The attacks might have been orchestrated by one of them," Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Tuesday, referring to the terror attacks on the Israeli missions in India and Georgia on Monday.

Vahidi's statement contradicted a previous statement by Iran's Foreign Ministry, claiming Israel had orchestrated the attacks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel believes Iran was responsible for targeting its missions in New Delhi and Tbilisi.

"Iran, which is behind these two attacks, is the world's largest terror exporter. The government of Israel and its security services will continue to cooperate with local authorities against Iran-sponsored global terror," he said.

Indian officials backed the assessment that Tehran was involved in the attack in their capital.

Iran rejected the accusation and Tehran's Ambassador to New Delhi Mehdi Nabizadeh said they were "sheer lies": "Any terrorist attack is condemned (by Iran) and we strongly reject the untrue comments by an Israeli official… These accusations are untrue and sheer lies, like previous times."

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast fiercely rebuffed the accusations as well, saying they were "part of the Zionist regime's propaganda machine."
