Happy Purim - Mishloach Manot

Intercontinental mishloach manot – Bnei Akiva style

World Bnei Akiva Movement takes Purim holiday's mishloach manot mitzvah global as each branch of youth movement sends packages to friends around the world

Alfajores from Argentina, pasta from Italy and Bamba (Israeli peanut snack) from Israel – the World Bnei Akiva Youth Movement decided that this year they would fulfill the Purim mitzvah of mishloach manot (gift baskets) on an international scale.

Members of the movement who are scattered throughout the globe took a trip to their local post offices this week and sent out mishloach manot that best reflects their country.

Rome's Bnei Akiva members sent their package to Montreal, Canada; the Canadians sent their mishloach to Auckland, New Zealand and the Argentineans sent their package to Israel.

The trans-Atlantic packages were sent via airmail and are all set to reach their destination by Thursday – Purim itself.

"This year's holiday will be an especially happy one for Bnei Akiva members," World Bnei Akiva Secretary General Rabbi Noam Perel noted excitedly. "Over the days of Purim we hope that every Jew in the world will feel that he will never be alone and that there is always a Jew somewhere else in the world thinking of him and supportive."
