Auschwitz to ban football items during Euro 2012

The Auschwitz -BirkenauState Museum says visitors, who will tour the Nazi death camp during the European Championship will not be allowed to enter with stadium accessories likes scarves, trumpets, banners and flags.
Auschwitz is located in Poland that is co-hosting the tournament with Ukraine. The Euro 2012 runs from June 8 to July 1.
The state-run memorial museum has posted visiting guidelines for the duration of the tournament on its website Thursday.
It is advising football fans, planning to visit Auschwitz during the tournament to leave backpacks and national flags in their vehicles or in a luggage storage center.
Four Polish cities will be hosting matches: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk. Several squads, including England, plan to tour Auschwitz, which is located in southern Poland.
