
A 68-year-old man was admitted to the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv in serious condition after he was allegedly attacked by a 16-year-old boy in the city's southern Argazim neighborhood overnight Wednesday.
The hospital said the man sustained multiple contusions.

A police investigation revealed that the teen, who was apparently intoxicated, lunged at the man in the middle of the street and began striking him. Police said the attack apparently followed an argument between the two. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the man refused to give the teenager a cigarette.

The man eventually fell to the ground, but the teen continued the brutal assault and kicked him in the head.
On Thursday the suspect will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrates' Youth Court for an arraignment hearing.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy who slipped into a coma two weeks ago following an alcohol-drinking contest died Tuesday night. According to the investigation, the boy drank an entire bottle of whiskey within minutes.
