Eight soldiers with the Kfir Brigade's
Nahshon Battalion have been suspended from their combat posts for beating a younger soldier from their company, Ynet has learned. The soldier was so badly beaten he required medical attention and was taken to Haemek Medical Center in Afula suffering from abdominal contusions.

The incident took place during a training session on Thursday. The eight confessed to beating the soldier to Kfir Brigade Commander Colonel Udi Ben Mucha. Military Police have launched a criminal investigation. The IDF's Spokesperson's Unit said that the Military Prosecution will review the case once the investigation is complete.
Just two weeks ago, Ben Mucha explained the importance of violence prevention to dozens of Kfir officers. He called for harsh punishments to those found abusing younger troops and pledged to personally handle such cases.
Last March, it was revealed that two Givati soldiers beat their comrades, who were new to the battalion, with rods that are used to hold up targets in shooting practice. The soldiers also hurled insults at the younger troops over a long period of time, according to a Military Police investigation.
