
The 42-year-old diving instructor, married, with a teenage daughter, went on vacation in Russia last month. Last week, Sapozhnikov disappeared while diving in Blue Lake, located near the city of Nalchik in south Russia.

"I called his phone and a stranger answered," his wife Tamara told Ynet. "I was sure I had the wrong number, so I hung up. After a few minutes, I called again and heard the same voice, probably one of the employees at the site. He told me that Dimitry went in water and everything was fine, but when he was supposed to come out – he didn’t."

In the days that passed since her husband's disappearance, Tamara tried to hold on to every shred of hope she could find. "It's excruciating to receive such news. I still can't believe I'll never see him again; I'll never talk to him again. I'm glad they could at least trace the body and bring it back to Israel."
She expressed her gratitude for those who offered their help.
