
A young Israeli woman was sexually assaulted after a full moon party in Koh Phangnan, Thailand, the Foreign Ministry confirmed Monday. The woman was admitted to a Thai hospital with wounds to her face and is now waiting to be flown back to Israel.
A local police official stated that the woman suffered wounds to her face and was found with blood stains on her clothes, the Bangkok Post reported.

According to the newsaper, the woman told police that she attended the party with friends, and left them at around 3:30 am. At this point she was attacked by a Thai man in his 30s at the beach near the Tommy Resort Hotel.
According to the woman's statement, the man tried to kiss her. She tried to resist, then punched him in the stomach and fled the scene.
Eyewitnesses told the Bangkok Post that the woman was taken to a clinic on the island, and was later brought in for treatment in Koh Samui via speedboat.
The police have started scouring the area in search of the suspect. They will also attempt to identify the attacker in surveillance tapes of the Tommy Resort Hotel.
