Jews in Los Angeles are known for their impeccable business sense, which Latinos admire and hope to emulate

VIDEO – In Los Angeles, Jews and Latinos play prominent roles in society. There are more than 600,000 Jews in LA – about 5% of the population. Latinos account for about 50%, according to the US census.

They've gathered at this holiday party to gain a greater understanding of each other's cultures. It's a move that could ultimately improve business relations.

The theme of the evening is business. The Jewish and Latino Business Chambers of Commerce sponsored the event, knowing their members would find common ground.

Camaraderie is extremely important for small business during hard economic times.

This experience is helping Jews learn how to market to the growing population of Latinos in Los Angeles. For small businesses, the relationships fostered here can lead to more customers. It's a grass-roots effort. But Latinos are learning something quite different from Jewish business owners.

Just like Latinos, Jews live in nearly every community in Los Angeles. There is no small section, but instead a network of businesses, restaurants, and synagogues throughout this enormous city.

Perhaps it's cliché, but Jews here are known for their impeccable business sense. That's what Latinos admire and hope to emulate.

The best way to break the ice, and learn the secrets to success is by sharing a meal. After all, Jews and Latinos have strong cultural ties to food.

From food to family, and ultimately business, Jews and Latinos have a lot in common. Holiday parties like this remind both groups that working together can lead to prosperity.
