The Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem has uploaded the Encyclopedia of Ghettos
to its website in a new, online Hebrew format.
The English edition of the encyclopedia, written by Prof. Gai Miron and Shlomit Shulhani of the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem, was published in October 2009 and was later translated into Hebrew.
It includes details about more than 1,100 ghettos established by the Nazis throughout Europe, where Jews were concentrated during the Holocaust.
The decision to post it online was made by Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev in order to make the information accessible to all.
