The Toyota Land Cruiser reportedly sustained damage estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels to its chassis and on-board security systems after the driver attempted to cross a flooded road and failed. No one was hurt in the incident.

The Military Police's investigation is standard procedure for cases where damages to IDF equipment exceed NIS 5,000 (roughly $1350).

Being a high-profile official, Gantz is subject to the protection of the State's Personnel Security Unit's agents, who both secure his home and accompany him at all times.
The unit also secures other high ranking officers according to changing security and threat assessments.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that, "For obvious reasons, it is impossible to shed light on the vehicle's role on the incident. As in every traffic accident in the IDF a Military Police investigation has been launched."
