The parents of two children – a 4-year-old girl and a 3-month-old boy – were arrested for neglect
after their daughter was found wandering alone on the street and their son was found by himself at home.
On Ichilov St. in Petah Tikva, passersby called the police Wednesday when they saw the girl out on the street alone, nearly run over by a car.

Police arrived at the scene and accompanied the girl back to her house, where the officers found the girl's 3-months-old baby brother, asleep in an otherwise empty apartment.
According to the police, any attempts to locate the children's parents failed and the siblings were subsequently referred to local social services.
Once located, the parents were arrested, and are expected to face questioning regarding the neglect of their children.
Magen David Adom paramedics were also called in to the house to ensure the children were not in need of medical care.
Some two months ago, police were alerted to a different Petah Tikva apartment, where three children – a 4-year-old boy and one-year-old twins – were naked and crying, as a 30-year-old woman, most likely their mother, was frantic and trying to prevent the officers from clothing the children. The woman was detained for questioning and the children were given medical care and referred to social services.
