Head of Shomron Regional Council slams lack of adequate response to stone-hurling attacks behind green line

IDF sources told Ynet that in addition to operational procedures, investigators are also active on the intelligence front.

The head of the Shomron Regional Council, Gershon Mesika said, "The lack of proper response to the stone hurling led to an escalation, just as we warned it would. Whoever treats stone hurlers with leniency will get firebombs and shootings. We urge the security authorities to act firmly against whoever is trying to put the lives of Israeli citizens in jeopardy."

Last week, a shooting at a bus carrying Israeli civilians took place in the same location. No one was injured.
