Paramedics: Man drowned in Ashkelon beach
A 53-year-old resident of Ashkelon drowned Friday in a local beach. At approximately 8:30 pm, he entered the water, and soon went missing. Two men went in after him, but were swept in the currents and pulled out by a fourth man without finding their friend.
Police, assisted by a helicopter, jet skis, lifeguards and volunteers had been looking for the man for over two hours, and eventually found him dead. (Neri Brenner)
