IDF forces fired at two Palestinian approaching the fence in the northern Gaza Strip Monday.The two were hit, one reportedly killed and the other apprehended by security forces, following a short chase.
Ashraf al-Kidra, a Palestinian health official, confirmed one was killed, but that his identity was yet to be determined. The fate of the other Palestinian in the shooting incident was unknown, and it was unclear if the Palestinians were militants or civilians, or if they were armed.

The IDF launched an investigation into the incident, looking into the possibility that the two were trying to place an explosive device in the area.
The incident occurred when an IDF unit with the Golani Brigade identified two suspects approaching the fence and opened fire in line with rules of engagement, eventually hitting them.
IDF troops are scouring the area to see if any explosives were placed.
Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip reported that IDF aircraft were circling over the area where the incident took place.
