Arab states press Saudi Arabia to accept Security Council seat

Arab countries called on Saudi Arabia to accept its UN Security Council seat, after it angrily refused the seat it was offered less than one day ago. The seat would go into effect on January 1, 2014.

Saudi Arabia refused the seat citing the inability of the UN to end the civil war in Syria, or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (AFP)
