France's Aviation Authority rejects British low-cost company's request to offer flights from Israel to French capital, but allows Dutch-French airline Transavia's to introduce same route
According to Micha Obsinsky, who is in charge of planning El Al's seasonal schedule, the new flights offer unprecedented weekly activity on the Israel-England route.
"London serves as a main destination for El Al passengers in all service classes, all year round, and a destination for thousands of businesspeople every month," he said.
In addition to El Al, British Airways offers 20 weekly flights to Heathrow, while easyJet operates 11 weekly flights to Luton and will be adding three weekly flights to Gatwick Airport in the summer, bringing the total number of flights from Tel Aviv to London to 61.
