Love to play the guitar and piano but don’t know the chords? Meet a new Israeli startup that will reveal the chords to your favorite songs directly from YouTube
YouTab is a search engine for chords and lyrics with a twist. While on most sites the song, the chords or the lyrics will appear without any sync between them at all, YouTab posts the video or the audio directly from YouTube or Soundcloud and simultaneously syncs the right chords, the beat for the song, the lyrics, sound wave and the length of every chord through a graphic interface – all so one can sing and play together with one's favorite songs.
YouTab holds an endless stock of songs from every genre and in every language, as it draws the music from YouTube and then processes it and locates the relevant chords.
If the arrangement is not entirely accurate, you are able to play with the position of the chords until they are in sync. Any change you make will move the song a couple of bars backwards as it will start playing from the exact point, and you will be able to see the change immediately.
The selected song can be played on a full screen or on one-third of the screen. While the smaller player is activated in a separate window, you can search for a different song as the music keeps playing, which is great for karaoke parties.

In quite a few songs there is no compatibility between the music, the chords and lyrics.
This can be very confusing, but no more than your average tabs.
Having said that, there is always the possibility to fix the sync and change the chords using the simple interface on the website. So if you have a song in your mind (and in your heart), don’t keep it locked in. Go play it. Now you already know how.
