Peres tells pope: Sacrifices of peace preferable to threat of war

Pope Francis has landed in Israel and was welcomed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres. Peres praised the pope, and promisd Israel would continue to work for peace.


"Even if peace calls for sacrifices, the sacrifices of peace are preferable to the threat of war. Our hand is stretched out in peace and will continue to be stretched out in peace, and we shall seek the right path to achieve it." (Attila Somfalvi)
