Spartacus, a gladiator and freedom fighter
The Moscow Classical Ballet company, which was founded by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov, will arrive in Israel in February 2015 with "Spartacus," a ballet by Aram Khachaturian.
Kasatkina and Vasilyov, who are both graduates of the legendary Bolshoi Theater, have worked with the best dancers in the world, including Mikhail Baryshnikov and Ekaterina Maximova.
The show focuses on the story of Spartacus, a gladiator and freedom fighter who managed to free hundreds of slaves and lead a slave uprising against the Romans.
The show is considered "outrageous" in 21st century dance due to its erotic nature, which is reflected in skin-tight clothing and bold scenes.
The grandiose show includes an impressive set decoration, hundreds of sets of clothing and authentic jewelry, as well as weapons which accurately reflect the era and are featured in impressive battle scenes.
