VIDEO: New footage of Charlie Hebdo terrorists firing at police

Kouachi brothers caught on camera shooting at police cruiser sending officers fleeing from scene.

A new video published in France on Tuesday documents the moments in which the Charlie Hebdo terrorists escaped after the massacre. The footage shows the shooters open fire on a police cruiser – leading the officers to flee.

British network Sky News reported that the video shows Said and Cherif Kouachi reload their rifles, screaming: "We took revenge in the name of the Prophet Muhammad, we killed Charlie Hebdo." The officers in the police cruiser are then seen reversing at great speed.

Meanwhile, in France, the surviving journalists at the satirical magazine held a press conference in which they officially unveiled the issue to be published tomorrow – the first since the massacre at the weekly's Paris office.

At the press conference, held under heavy security at the offices of daily Libération, the magazine's editor-in-chief said the new issue, featuring another caricature of Mohammed, was created by the staff with a mixture of "sorrow and joy."

Earlier on Tuesday, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, in a speech that drew several standing ovations, called for the intelligence capabilities and anti-terrorism laws to be strengthened after previously admitting to "clear failings" over the attackers.

"France is at war against terrorism, jihadism, radicalism. France is not at war against Islam and Muslims," Valls said. "I don't want Jews in this country to be scared, or Muslims to be ashamed" of their faith, he added.
