A young Palestinian man who broke into a school building in Beit Shemesh, close to Jerusalem, was shot in the leg on Saturday after he tried to stab a policeman.
The Palestinian man was taken to the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem in light condition.
The incident occurred during a police operation against thieves in the area. There were two other Palestinians present, one of whom was arrested and the other escaped. Police will seek to extend the arrest of the two suspects in custody, both of whom are residents of Nahlin, near Hebron.
