A female terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack near Givat Avot, which is next to the western entrance to Kiryat Arba settlement, on Sunday afternoon. The attacker was shot and neutralized, with no Israelis wounded.
At around 2pm, the attacker attempted to stab a settler who was standing nearby, who struggled with her. She was then shot by an IDF soldier and taken to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem in serious condition. She has been identified as Luma al-Bakari, 16, a resident of Hebron.
Kiryat Arba, which is close to Hebron, has been the site of numerous terror attacks during the current wave. Hebron has also been a focal point for the violence, including a stabbing attack last week in which the son of former Bayit Yehudi MK Orit Struck was lightly wounded.
On Friday, two terror attacks were attempted, without injuries: a Palestinian fired in the direction of Gilboa checkpoint, before being shot and wounded. An hour after that, another Palestinian tried to run over soldiers at the Halhul junction, near Hebron.
