Queen and Adam Lambert may perform in Israel

The rock legend and multitalented youngster are in talks to give one show in Israel

Adding to the summer sizzle of fabulous foreign fan favorites, Ynet learned that iconic rock band Queen and the more recent pop star Adam Lambert are in talks to come to Israel for one joint performance.

Queen became a musical sensation in the early 1980s, with songs like "We are the Champions" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" that electrified audiences and challenged accepted norms of gender and rock stardom. Its front man, Freddie Mercury, was a huge component to their success and mass public appeal. After rising to the top of the music industry with his band and launching a solo career, Mercury died in 1991 due to AIDS-related complications.

Adam Lambert first gained international recognition in 2009, when he came in second on the season of the hit show American Idol. During his stint on the show, Lambert performed several Queen songs, gaining the recognition of the band's lead guitarist Brian May.

Lambert joined forces with the surviving members of Queen in 2012, and since then they have been performing the band’s timeless classics together with songs from Lambert's own oeuvre.
