The festive holiday of Purim was celebrated with gusto, as 60-thousand revelers joined in the fun at Tel Aviv's traditional rave at one of its most prominent squares, Kikar HaMedina. Almost all of those taking part in the celebrations there were in costume. The party included electronic music, food and drinks.
And while Tel Aviv bounced to the techno beat, 5,000 people decided to make it to the southern kibbutz of Sde Boker for its annual Adloyada festivities. This year, its theme was environmentalism, with middle and high schoolers taking part in a costume contest dressed completely in recycled materials.
But while Friday featured fair weather, Saturday may include showers in the north. Sunday is expected to include local rain, smog and strong winds. On Monday, Jerusalem will be celebrating Shoshan Purim, during which time rain is expected in the north and center of the country.
