Would you buy this Yom Kippur cake?

Yom Kippur cake becomes an online joke

Whole Foods in Rockville, Maryland offered its customers quite a treat for the Yom Kippur fast—a cake laden with Jewish symbols such as apples and honey, pomegranates, Stars of David a seven-branched candelabrum and, inexplicably so, bees; and it only cost $30, too.

A cake for Yom Kippur sold at Whole Foods in Rockville, Maryland has caused much bewilderment and amusement online.

The cake is laden with Jewish symbols, though not particularly any that are associated with Yom Kippur itself.

Apples and honey, pomegranates and a fish—all symbols of Rosh Hashanah—appear on the cake, as well as several Stars of David, a seven-branched candelabrum and, inexplicably so, bees.

And just to make sure shoppers know what this cake was for, it featured the words "Yom Kippur!" as well.

Jewish customers could take that marvel home to torment them during their Yom Kippur fast for "only" $30.
