While the circumstances surrounding the man's death remain unknown, investigators are looking into the possibility that the victim, identified as Reuven Shmerling from Elkana, was murdered by his employees from the West Bank who worked on his business premises in which his body was found.
Investigators believe the suspected murder may have occurred following a monetary dispute.
“When we arrived, people led us to the building where we saw a 70-year-old man lying on the floor who was not conscious or breathing and had no pulse,” one paramedic recalled upon arrival at the Israeli Arab city east of Tel Aviv.
“We conducted medical checks but he had no signs of life and we declared him dead on the scene.”
