In addition to being a navigator, the officer also has an operational role at the IAF Headquarters.

Two additional female officers were appointed deputy commanders in the drone unit on Sunday.

Women have been making leaps and bounds in combat roles in the Israeli Air Force. Two women recently graduated from the IAF Flight Academy'—Lt. T. as a helicopters pilot and Lt. Dafna as a transport navigator.

While in the class before that, S. became the fourth female fighter pilot in the IAF's history.
