Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Poland expresses his disdain of 'Polish death camps' bill

Rabbi Mordechai Yosef Schudrich, the Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Poland, said that the bill forbidding the usage of "slanderous phrases" such as "Polish death camps" recently approved by the government was "bad and miserable".

Schudrich argued that the bill is only the first step in the broader legislation on the matter, and is in contact with the heads of government in Poland and plans to meet with the president and the heads of parliament to express his disapproval.

"I am in favor of dialogue as a precondition for action in any field," he explained. "This policy has helped us in the past, and I am sure that it will help in the future.
