The German Foreign Ministry said Saturday Berlin was "concerned by the situation in Gaza and calls on all involved to avoid further escalation."
"This incident shows the urgency of the resumption of negotiations to find a solution that would be suitable to all people between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea," the ministry wrote on its Twitter page.
