Israeli ministers speak out against Iranian entrenchment in Syria

Israel will continue to "act" against Iran in Syria, warned two Israeli ministers on Sunday, nearly a week after an attack attributed to the Jewish state and having cost seven lives.

Tehran, Israel's sworn enemy, is one of Bashar Assad's main allies in the Syrian conflict and has played a major role in the recent victories of government troops.

"We will continue to act against Iran's military establishment in Syria, which threatens Israel's security," warned Homeland Security Minister Gilad Erdan, a member of the restricted security cabinet, on military radio.

Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who is also a member of the small cabinet, said Israel was "fully free to act".
