Foreign national tries to kidnap 4-year-old girl in south Tel Aviv
25-year-old man from Denmark snatches girl from playground on Friday and flees scene with her; mother chases after him calling for help, making him drop the girl and escaping; police arrest him 24 hours later.
A foreign national from Denmark was arrested over the weekend on the suspicion he tried to kidnap a four-year-old girl in south Tel Aviv on Friday.
While the girl was playing at a playground, the 25-year-old suspect allegedly walked up to her, picked her up and started fleeing the scene with her.
The girl's mother, who was nearby, realized what had happened and started chasing after him and screaming for help.

While the suspect initially continued running, he eventually dropped the girl and escaped on foot.
Large police forces that arrive at the scene were able to apprehend him some 24 hours later.
He will be brought to a remand extension hearing on Sunday. He is suspected of attempted kidnapping, assault and battery.
