Streets to close down as Tel Aviv's White Night begins

City's main streets will be blocked to traffic as Israelis flock to Tel Aviv to participate in the annual festivities that continue throughout the night which have been taking place since 2003.

Tel Aviv will celebrate Thursday its annual all-night "White Night" events which it has been marking since 2003 when UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) declared Tel Aviv's "White City" as a cultural World Heritage Site.

Main streets will be closed to traffic from 9pm as the festivites get underway, and hundreds of police officers and volunteers will be deployed across the city.

The following streets will be closed to traffic: Allenby Street from Ha-moshavot to Herbert Samuel, Rothschild Boulevard from Herzl Street to Marmorek Street, Ibn Gvirol Street from Arlozorov Street to Shaul Hamelech Street, Rehovot Herbert Samuel/Kaufman from Jerusalem Boulevard to Shalag, Jerusalem Boulevard to the North from Ben Zvi Boulevard to Eilat Street, Hayarkon/Rokach Boulevard from Ibn Gvirol Street to Nordau Boulevard.

Levels of traffic will determine whether to close the Ayalon interchanges—including the Rokach interchange, the Shalom interchange, and the La Guardia interchange.

In addition, public transportation will be more frequent and Israel Railways will operate its services until morning hours.

Buses will depart from Tel Aviv Savidor Central railway station to all events taking place across the city.

Several streets will be also closed to traffic in Be'er Sheva due to the Gay Pride Parade taking place Thursday evening.
