Rivlin: Israel the only regional authority delivering goods for Gaza residents’ welfare

President Reuven Rivlin said he was sorry Tuesday evening for the suffering being imposed on the residents in the Gaza Strip by Hamas, adding that Israel is the only authority in the region providing goods for the population.

"We are sorry for the people of Gaza who are suffering under the strain of Hamas. Israel was and remains the only authority in the region that delivers vital goods for the welfare of Gaza residents in any situation. Gaza will not be rehabilitated as long as Hamas threatens our safety," said during a memorial service on Mount Herzl for fallen soldier of Operation Protective Edge.
