Hamas: 'Trump's statements about Jerusalem are dangerous'

Palestinian leaders expressed outrage on Tuesday at US President Donald Trump’s “audacious and dangerous” statements made the previous night in which he said that his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital removed the central sticking point off the table in any future peace negotiations.

"Trump's statements are audacious and dangerous; the right response would be to revoke the Palestinian Authority's recognition of the State of Israel, and cease all security coordination with Israel. The authority should also break all contacts, including security contacts, with the American administration," Hamas said in a statement.

A Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) statement said that Trump’s statements point to “the continuation of a biased policy in Israel’s favor, and the continued illusion of the American administration that it is possible to achieve the ‘deal of the century’ without Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state."
