A 20-year-old woman from northern Israel was injured this Saturday after falling from a cliff in the Mitzpe Ramon area. She was evacuated for medical care and is suffering from fractures.
Around 11 am police received a report that a young woman, who went out to watch the sunrise in the Mitzpe Ramon region, did not return or contact her two friends who stayed behind at the hostel.
Police volunteers and the Har Hanegev Search and Rescue Team assisted by a helicopter started scanning the area, and located the woman after a few hours of searching.
She was found injured in an area that is not accessible by foot, and was evacuated by an IAF helicopter for medical care.
The police said that “we continue to ask hikers—take precautions and inform your friends or family about your planned route, as well as your estimated time of arrival. Contact the police if any problem arises”
