Erdogan at UNGA: We will continue to stand by 'oppressed' Palestinians
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told the UN General Assembly on Tuesday that “those who remain silent in the face of repression against the Palestinians only embolden their oppressors.”
The remarks appeared to be intended as a swipe against US President Donald Trump who has taken a series of decisions supporting Israel which have angered Palestinians and their allies.
“Even if the world turns its back, we will continue to be by the side of the oppressed Palestinians and we will defend the legal status of Jerusalem,” Erdoğan said.
