Netanyahu: Kochavi deserves to be next chief of staff

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued a statement according to which Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, who is the candidate chosen by the defense minister to replace the outgoing Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, Is the appropriate man for the job.

The statement added that Kochavi's candidacy will be brought before the government after it is approved by the Goldberg committee.
