Mark Zuckerberg joins popular 'Secret Tel Aviv' group on Facebook

Founder and CEO of the social network became member of the popular group, which allows users to look for roommates and share restaurant recommendations in the city that never sleeps, writing he wants to 'stay connected with Tel Aviv' and declaring his love for hummus.

Founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg on Monday joined the popular Israel-based group "Secret Tel Aviv" on the social network.

Initially, the group’s members thought Zuckerberg’s profile was fake, but it immediately became obvious that the account was authentic.

“Hey, I'm glad to be here to stay more connected with Tel Aviv. It's been too long since my last visit. Thanks for creating this community!" the Facebook founder wrote in the group.

It is not clear what prompted Zuckerberg to join the group, which allows the residents of the city that never sleeps to look for roommates and ask for advice on the best restaurants in the area. What is certain is that his membership was met with great excitement among the social network's users.

The enthusiastic responses didn’t take long as one user wrote "I hope the new member in the group likes the hummus in the city," to which Zuckerberg replied “Everyone likes hummus.”
