Argument in Kibbutz Ramat Hakovesh ends in attempted murder, suicide
Disgruntled kibbutz member shoots administration worker after meeting over cut in his salary canceled, then shoots himself in the head; shooting victim critically wounded
A member of Kibbutz Ramat Hakovesh shot a man at the community's offices and then committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. The shooting victim was critically injured.
According to an initial police investigation, 69-year-old longtime kibbutz member Yossi Schneiberg shot his victim (60), who holds a senior position at the kibbutz but does not reside in it, after he was told that his scheduled meeting with another senior member of the kibbutz's administration was canceled. The shooter called the meeting to discuss a cut in his salary.

Paramedic Itzik Kaufman, a resident of Ramat Hakovesh, described the scene: "The men lay side by side, and the kibbutz's nurses were tending to them. I immediately began administering first aid to the shooter, until a medical team arrived and pronounced him dead. We continued to treat the other man and an ambulance evacuated him to the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva."
Members of the kibbutz told Ynet that Schneiberg, a maintenance worker, was married with children.
They said arguments with the kibbutz's management over salaries were not uncommon.
