Doctors suspected of egg-trafficking return to Israel
Four months after raid on fertility clinic in Bucharest doctors Nathan Levitt, Genya Ziskind land in Israel, reunite with loved ones. 'It's like waking up from a bad dream,' says Levitt's sister
Israeli doctors Prof. Nathan Levitt and Dr. Genya Ziskind, who were detained in Romania on suspicion of involvement in an egg-trafficking affair, landed at the Ben Gurion Airport Thursday and reunited with their family members, four months after a raid on the Sabyc fertility clinic.
Dr. Ziskind told reporters at the airport how happy they were to return. "We wish to thank all of the people who helped us, patients and friends, who encouraged us over a long period and helped us through the hard times abroad. Thank you to the campaign head."
Ziskind also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs "and in particular the deputy foreign minister, who made our stay in Romania slightly easier once he stepped in."
Prof. Levitt said that the beginning of their stay in Romania was particularly traumatic and noted that they had completed their obligations to the Romanian investigators. His colleague mentioned that their interrogation only lasted one day.

"There's a sense of relief," Ziskind's husband Avi said. "Though the process hasn't ended, we're over the hard part."
Dr. Ziskind's daughter, Tamar, expressed the family's enthusiasm upon the mother's return. "We waited for this day for so long, we hope no indictment will be filed. We had a tough time at home…we were willing to do everything, talk to whomever necessary, chase after ministers and Knesset members. A lot of good people helped us along the way, particularly worth noting is the deputy foreign minister who devoted himself to the task."
Professor Levitt's sister, Vicky, said, "I'm glad this day has finally arrived, it's like waking up from bad dream, the accusations are completely bizarre."
The sister noted that prior to the flight she spoke to her brother, who still feared something would go wrong.
Chen, Levitt's daughter, said she does not believe her father would return to Romania, unless he is required to. "It's a great joy for us. The allegations are unrealistic."
