Home is where Israeli heart is

Surveys say Israelis are spontaneous but safe about sex, perfer to do it at home, perhaps after romantic, candlelit dinner

Several new surveys (along with others already out there) show Israelis are homebodies when it comes to romance and straightforward in their acts. Fantasies are something else, however.

Half of all Israelis prefer to have a romantic meal with their partner in an intimate atmosphere. The survey found that 50 would percent prefer to have a romantic candlelit meal at home, 29 percent in a guest house up north, 9.5 percent on a secluded beach, and just 4.9 percent in a restaurant.

Market Watch conducted the survey for a company that makes a pill for erectile dysfunction and among 500 men 18 years of age and up.

While just 32 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds said they would prefer spending time at home, 70 percent of those 55 and up felt there was nothing better.

The same goes for the beach apparently, where 17 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds liked the idea of a romantic dinner on the beach, the percentage approving of that drops until age 55, in which not a single respondent showed any inclination for that at all.

Israelis are also homebodies, as it were, about sex itself.

A survey for a condom maker found that Israelis don’t much like flavored condoms, but they (both men and women) do keep a condom in their wallets regularly just in case. They also like to do it in nature, and are definitely spontaneous about sex as well. They fantasize about taking part in an orgy, but won’t dare to actually try it.

A survey conducted by Agis, a company that markets condoms, included 350 interviews with people between the ages of 18-50. Agis found that 31percent of those interviewed prefer the classic condom. Between the sexes, 15 percent of men and 9 percent of women prefer colored or flavored condoms, and just 2 percent of women prefer the ribbed condom, which is meant to give them greater pleasure and satisfaction.

One on one

Some 65 percent of men and 53 percent of women said they keep a condom in their wallet, and are careful about having safe sex. In answer to the question of whether they would like to have more than one partner in bed, a quarter of the women, and a third of the men said they have nothing against another player in bed, but not in theirs.

In real life, having a third party would be nice for 29 percent of men, but 58 percent of women were a bit more conservative, and preferred to have one-on-one relations, with the focus on them. The earthy, natural trend figures strongly in sexual relations in Israel, with 51 percent of men and 37 percent of women all for having sex in the great outdoors in a secluded, romantic place.

Another survey conducted for the company, which also markets a pill for erections, found that spontaneity is one of the most important elements in the sex life of men over 40. The survey was conducted among 520 men over the age of 40, and found that 75 percent of them said spontaneity in their sex life is important.

Fully 83 percent of respondents said they planned to have sex just a half hour to an hour before they do it, or they don’t plan ahead at all. Only 2.3 percent said they plan their intercourse 6-12 hours ahead.
