Settlers pledged Friday to continue establishing illegal outposts throughout the Hanukkah holiday, after IDF forces, police and Civil Authority evacuated three illegal settlements Thursday in the West Bank.
The three outposts established near Shvut Rachel, Beit El and Kiryat Arba were evacuated without any disturbances. Equipment, including barrels, tents and rolls of jute were dismantled by IDF troops.
The settlers chose not to resist the forces during the evacuation, but claimed to have returned to the very sites Friday morning.
Several settlers said expensive equipment, including a generator, disappeared during the evacuation of one of the outposts near Beit El. They plan to file a formal complaint with the police at the beginning of next week.
The IDF issued a statement saying it would continue to uphold law and order in the West Bank.
Prior to Hanukkah, settlers announced their plan to erect another 25 outposts throughout the Judea and Samaria areas. During the Sukkot holiday, six illegal settlements were set up and then promptly dismantled.
The settlers claim to have established an additional 21 new outposts during Hanukkah and are pledging to set up another four by the end of the holiday, defining their actions as a "Hanukkah summer camp."
