Suspect indicted in severed bodies case
Eli Fahima indicted for killing Beatrice and Denise Rodov in mid August; faces two counts of murder, obstruction of justice, fraud charges
Eli Fahima, the prime suspect in the double murder of Beatrice Rodov and her daughter Denise, was indicted Wednesday before the Tel Aviv District Court.
Fahima is facing two counts of murder as well as obstruction of justice, fraud, and using falsified documents charges.
According to the indictment, not only did Fahima kill the two, severed their bodies and scattered their remains, he also stole NIS 10,000 (about $2,600) from Beatrice Rodov by falsifying one of her checks.

The indictment did not detail the ways by which Fahima committed the gruesome acts, nor does it state a clear motive.
The prosecution did, however, note that Beatrice Rodov's headless body was found in a dumpster in a Ramat Gan street, not far from her home, and that evidence found on the remains attest that the suspect attempted to burn the body.
The State argued that in the days prior to his arrest, Fahima attempted to cover up his acts by cleaning the Rodovs' apartment, disposing of furniture and painting over supposed blood spatters. He also had his car detailed so as to conceal and dispose of evidence.
Additional incriminating evidence was presented in the form of a photograph given to the police by a resident of one of the neighboring buildings. The photo shows Fahima carrying heavy-looking trash bags – presumably containing Beatrice and Denise's remains.
