The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court remanded Ali Abu Sheikha, a senior member of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, for an additional four days on Wednesday, following his involvement in the recent wave of
unrest in the capital.
Sheikha was arrested by the Jerusalem Police on Tuesday, on suspicion of incitement and disorderly conduct over the past two weeks.

Justice Rivka Friedman-Feldman, presiding over the hearing, said Sheikha was remanded since there were grounds to believe he was connected to the riots which broke out in Jerusalem's Temple Mount compound on the eve of Yom Kippur,
lasting well into the Sukkot mid-holidays.
He is also suspected of creating public panic by distributing false reports.
Sheikha is considered the No. 3 man in the Islamic Movement's northern branch. Most of the movement's leaders were arrested during the Jerusalem riots, including its head, Sheikh Raed Salah and
his deputy, Sheikh Kamal Khatib
Salah was subsequently barred from the capital for 30 days. Khatib was interrogated and then released.
