An eye witness said: "I was sitting on the balcony drinking coffee. The tractor was carrying drywall plates on the beach, and then made a turn down a path.
"Suddenly I heard the driver shouting, 'get an ambulance, quick.' I immediately called an ambulance. The driver was in shock."

According to him, "I didn't see the victim, but I know him. He's a regular beachgoer, he lives nearby."
Magen David Adom paramedic Ofir Prentki said the tractor was working on a construction site nearby.
According to Prentki, the victim was extracted by passers-by, but resuscitation efforts proved futile and the team was forced to pronounce the man dead at the scene.
Since the accident did not occur on a road, it is not considered a traffic accident and a criminal investigation will be opened.
Ayalon Police Chief Commander Yehuda Dahan said: "This is a tragic event. We'll examine all aspects, how and why did it happen, and where exactly the man was lying."
