A resident of Jerusalem was arrested on Thursday on suspicion he stabbed to death his neighbor's dog. Police arrested the man in the city's Kiryat Yovel neighborhod after he was found wandering the street holding a knife.

Locals called the police after seeing the man holding a knife and telling passersby he "killed a dog." Officers who arrived at the scene found him covered in blood.

The two dogs that he himself kept were taken from his home by Jerusalem municipal workers.

David, the slain dog's owner said, "He unleashed this oh so good dog and just stabbed her. We had her for five years. My daughter is devastated, the kids are in pain, it's like a family member was murdered. I would see him walking his dogs, he was strange, but I never imagined he would do such a thing."
