Is One Direction star obsessed with Judaism?

According to quite a few reports, English singer Harry Styles, a member of successful boy band One Direction, has begun taking private lessons in Hebrew and is aiming to be able to read from the Torah.
According to the reports, Styles has developed a real obsession with Judaism. One of his friends told the Daily Star, "Harry’s made it his mission to learn to speak and write Hebrew. His obsession started with his tattoos, but now he’s becoming very serious about learning as much as he can… So far he’s learnt to write his name and One Direction in Hebrew."

The popular singer was exposed to Judaism thanks to one of his close friends, who is Jewish. Since then he has taken an interest in kosher laws. According to his friend, he "loves kosher food and regularly visits kosher restaurants in New York." He also holds Shabbat prayers at his home and even observed Yom Kippur this year, the friend added.
According to different sources, Styles is interested in performing in Israel with his band members and visiting holy Jewish sites.
Styles' interest in Judaism created a buzz last year, when he revealed a tattoo on his left arm with his sister Gemma's name in Hebrew. The incident led to rumors that he was Jewish, until his father tweeted: "He is 0% Jewish."
According to the recent reports, although he was not born Jewish, Styles may well be on his way to Judaism.
